Eugenio Garza Sada (Monterrey11 January 1892 – died 17 september 1973) was a Mexican businessman and philanthropist. He is best known as the founder in 1943 of the ITESM (Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey), which now ranks as one of the most prestigious universities of Latin America.

Garza Sada studied civil engineering at the MIT in the United States. In 1917 he graduated and returned to Mexico. There he began working for the Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, a major brewery in Monterrey, which had been founded by his father and uncle. In the following years he started several companies, including the glass company Vitro. In 1943 he founded a number of other important business men the ITESM on a University that he wanted a. strict morality combined with a high academic quality.

He came to after an unsuccessful kidnapping by the 23 September Communist League. In 2006 released documents showed that the Mexican secret service was aware of the ontvoeringsplannen, but did nothing to prevent it since Garza Sada regularly criticised the Mexican Government. His wife and eight children were left behind. Today he is regarded as a visionary in Monterrey. The main road that goes along the University, is named after him.
