Federico Luzzi ( Arezzo , January 3 1980 - there, October 25 2008 ) was an Italian tennis player .

Already in the juniors did Luzzi themselves heard, between fourteen and sixteen, he was twice European champion, and he won several Italian titles in various categories. In 1999 he became a professional tennis player.

Led by Umberto Rianna he trained with Potito Starace and Daniele Bracciali . He played tennis for the Italian national team in the Davis Cup in 2002 and was in the 92nd place in the ATP ranking .

From 2000 he also came abroad to stand, including in the event of interest in Kitzbühel . In 2004 he lost his match in Genoa against the Austrian Daniel Köllerer . On February 29, 2008, he was disqualified for two hundred days, and he was part of the anti-corruption program, fined $ 50,000 by the ATP, because he had gambled over a period of three years on the outcome of matches.

In October 2008 Luzzi became seriously ill. On Thursday, October 23, he was diagnosed with leukemia . Very shortly afterwards he fell into a coma and two days later he died at the age of 28.
