Filemon E. Perez (Lucena21 March 1883 - 20 may 1943) was a Filipino politician

Filemon Perez was born on March 21, 1883 in Lucena, the capital of the province of Tayabas, Quezonthe present. He was the only child of coconut-plantation ownerSimeon Perez and Victoria Enriquez. From the age of four, followed Perez education at the Catholic school of Lucena, where he was taught by the local priest Mariano Zamora. In 1890 he began his high school education at the Ateneo de Manila. During the second phase of the Philippine Revolution closed Perez itself despite the fact that he was a minor at the revolutionary movement. He served under general Miguel Malvar. Later he continued his studies at the Ateneo de Manila in 1901, after which he again are Bachelor of Artsdegree. Adjacent to the United States, Perez left where he at the University of California are both a bachelor's and master 's-degree in law completed.

Perez returned in 1905 back in the Philippines. In 1907 he was elected to the Board of the province of Tayabas. He was re-elected after the elections. In the elections of 1909 was elected Deputy on behalf of Perez the 1st constituency of Tayabas. In 1912 followed a re-election with a term until 1916. Three years later, Perez was elected Governor of the province of Tayabas. In the elections of 1922 and 1925 he was reelected. During his period as Governor was significantly refurbished schools and better roads were Lucena built. He was also responsible for the building of the provincial government building in Lucena in 1924 and the construction of the park around it a park laid out in Lucena on a piece of land donated by his father. At the end of his third term was Perez in 1928 by Governor General of the Philippines Henry Stimson was appointed Minister of trade and communication. In his period as a Minister which lasted until 1933 he put in for less corruption within his Department. Just before the outbreak of the Second World War, emigrated to the United States because of health reasons Perez.

There he died in 1943 at the age of 60 from complications of stomach cancer at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He married Genoveva Villaseñor. The couple had two daughters named Paz and Belen.
