Georgy Alexandrovich Andreev ( Russian : Георгий Александрович Андреев) ( Starokoeltsjoebajevo , January 7 1976 ) is a Russian long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon . He represented Russia at several major international marathons and this was several times on the podium. In total, he took part in threeOlympics , but this did not win any medals . He was from 2005 to 2009 held the European record in the 25 km.

His first success achieved Andreev in 2003 by winning the marathon in Košice in 2: 13:24. The following year he made his Olympic debut at the marathon Athens Games .Here he was nineteenth in 2: 16:55. Also that year he took part in the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships , but this ended in the rear.
On March 13, 2005, he gave in Seoul demonstrated his abilities by improving the European record in the 25 km to 1: 14:43. Later that year he was 46th at the world championships in Helsinki and won a silver medal in the marathon in Nagano .
In 2008 improved Georgi Andreev at the Turin Marathon his personal best in the marathon to 2: 11:01. Here he earned a sixth place. This competition was won byKenyan Stephen Kibiwott , with 2: 10:13 less than one minute faster. Later that year he had at the Beijing Olympics to settle for fourteenth place in 2: 13:33. At the Boston Marathon in 2009 , he was twelfth in 2: 16:17.
In 2012 he graduated at the London Olympics a 37th place with a time of 2: 18.20.
Andreev is affiliated with Dynamo in Ufa .
