Hennie Meijer (ParamariboFebruary 17, 1962) is a former Surinamese-Dutch footballer.

He was a late bloomer: at the age of 18, he was only a member of a football team, DJK. Macdonald made his debut in professional football in 1983 at Telstar. In his first season he fell in an away match against SC Heracles. In a 5-1 victory he took all the hits from his club for his account.

He then played a year at FC Volendam and two years at Roda JC. The season ' 87/' 88 he played for Ajax. That year, he played his only match for the Dutch national football team, a friendly game against Belgium. This was followed by a (later controversial) transfer to the club where he would be best known for: FC Groningen. The transfer was a year later one of the transfers that were examined in the black money affair around President Dave Dave. Also In 1989 , he played as a substitute once in the Dutch B national football team.

Macdonald formed a strong aanvalsduo at Groningen with Milko Djurovski. Especially the season ' 90/' 91 they were so on drove that FC Groningen turned to four rounds before the end of the competition seriously mixed in the battle for the League title. After this season, he was awarded the Golden Boot.

Jennifer Macdonald was in 1989 one of the football players with the colorful Team would play a tournament in Suriname. He and Stanley Menzo group but not with the big names flew a previous flight; so both escaped to the SLM-disaster.

In 1993 left Macdonald from Groningen for an adventure in Tokyo, that was not a success. Although he scored the first goal in the newly founded J-League, but was, partly due to a strict limitation on the number of foreign players per selection, fired after eleven games. He then played for Cambuur LeeuwardenDe Graafschapand SC Heerenveen , but the Groningen success he would no longer match. He finished his football career in 1998 at the BV Veendam.
