Markus Pommer (Heilbronn, 27 January 1991) is a German race car driver.
Career[Edit][]
Pommer began his motorsport career in karting in 1999, in which he remained active until 2006. In 2007 he began a career in the in the Formula BMW ADAC series for team Mücke Motorsport. Behind his teammatesKevin Mirocha and Philipp Eng , he was tenth in the Championship. After the merger of the formula BMW ADAC series and Formula BMW UK in the formula BMW Europe, Pommer stepped over to Abt Sportsline in theADAC Formel Masters for 2008. Pommer won one race and finished on the podium five times. He finished the season as fifth before his teammate Daniel Abt.
Pommer started In 2009 in the German formula three championship for the team Zettl Sportsline Motorsport. He finished second twice and was third in the Championship behind Laurens Vanthoor and Stef Dusseldorp. Pommer was the best driver with a Mercedesengine. In 2010 he continued driving in the German Formula 3, but now for the team Brandl Motorsport. With a second place as the best result he was eighth in the Championship and he was already the best driver with a Mercedes engine. In 2011 , he drove his third season in German Formula 3, but he switched to the team motopark Academy. [1] after he picked up only one point in three race weekends, he switched to Jo Zeller Racing. He was second In his second race. [2] with four podium finishes, he finished ninth in the Championship.
