Nikolai Alekseevich Goeljajev (Russian: Николай Алексеевич Гуляев) (Moscow1 January 1966) is a former Russian speed skater.

Nikolai Goeljajev was active between 1986 and 1992 in the international skating sport. His specialty were the Middle distances 1000 and 1500 meters, which he first mentioned the distance on the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary was champion. His Olympic title was controversial, because he was caught a few weeks before the games at the smuggling of anabolic steroids. Incidentally, Goeljajev himself never caught on doping . Four years later at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville he tried to defend his title, but he came no further than the 8th place.

By its speed on the short distances, but also by its (initially) reasonable operation over the long haul, Goeljajev in 1987 became both European and World allround champion with a wide lead over its closest competitors. His world title was the first indoor was achieved (in Heerenveen). By his world record 1500 metres at the World Championships of 1987 he came to the top of the Adelskalender, where he remained for a year on one day after. Goeljajev was all round champion of the Soviet Union in 1987.
