Raúl Omar Otero (Montevideo15 January 1970) is a former footballer from Uruguay. He played as a defender for club football in Uruguay, Argentinaand Japan . Otero ended his active career in 2006 at Uruguay Montevideo Football Club.

Career Statistics[Edit]Edit

Led by head coach Héctor Núñez Otero made his debut for the national team on October 19, 1994 in a friendly away match against Peru in Lima (0-1). Darío Silva made in that game in the eighth minute the only goal of the match.

Other debutants in that game were Claudio Arbiza (Defensor Sporting Club), Marcelo Otero (CA River Plate Montevideo), Luis Diego López (CA River Plate Montevideo), Darío Silva (CA Peñarol), Tabaré Silva (Defensor Sporting Club), Diego Tito (CA Bella Vista Montevideo), Nelson Abeijón (Club Nacional de Football), Darío Delgado(Montevideo Wanderers), Fernando Correa (CA River Plate Montevideo) and Edgardo Adinolfi (CA River Plate Montevideo).

Marcelo Otero is the younger brother of Otero, and in the 1920 Summer Olympics. A total of six times for his homeland came Otero in the period 1994-1995. His brother Marcelo came out 25 times for Uruguay, and he made ten goals in the period 1994-2000.
