Stephan van den Berg (Horn20 February 1962) is a former Dutch windsurfer.

In 1979 began Van den Berg as a teenager with matches after he had read about Robby Naish. The following year he won the first of four consecutive world titles. His biggest success came in 1984. When in Los Angeles for the first time his discipline on the programme of the Play stood. During these Olympic Games he had to fight against the lack of wind. He was participant in the if heavier disadvantage compared to its lighter opponents. He was just 11th In the fourth race, but he finished in previous matches between the first and fourth place. He won the gold by In the final race to be third. In the overall standings he finished for the American Randell Scott Steele(Silver) and the New Zealander Bruce Kendall (bronze). Thanks to this achievement he was elected that year end sportsman of the year. After the games, he was professional windsurfer's European.

As a pro he was not allowed to participate in the 1988 Games in Seoul. Four years later, the rules were changed; He was seventh in Barcelona .

Runs since 1980 Van den Berg, along with his brothers Ron and Marco, a water sports matter to the Kernweg in Hoorn.
